Hi NeoNeurone and welcome to Wikka. You might want to add a CategoryUsers link to your page so it shows up in the list of user profiles. To get in touch with the Wikka developers and community, just pop in at #wikka at freenode.

Hi NeoNeurone,

Welcome to Wikka Wiki!

Please add CategoryUsers at the bottom of your page so it will show up as a user page. You might also want to add yourself to the UserMap.

Salut NeoNeurone,

si cela te dit, la documentation en Français est toujours en cours de traduction.

Et dans tous les cas, bienvenue ici :)

Cool, je pourrais piquer de la doc et faire un patch pour la version English&French en même temps. LOL !

"The current development of Wikka Wiki is likely stopped."

Wow, that's news to me...can you point me to a link or something?

There's no official link. IMHO, the development of Wikka has stopped because the developers don't even appear on the IRC for months.

The development has slowed down but it hasn't stopped as you can see from the timeline in the Wikka tracker.

This said, I'm surprised and disappointed to see that - instead of offering help to improve Wikka in a difficult moment - you take the freedom to declare its death and start (yet) another fork. You are obviously free to do with the code whatever the GPL allows you to, but as a member of the Wikka Dev Team, I'd appreciate to be notified when someone is starting an actual fork to be released.

> the developers don't even appear on the IRC for months
true, and I'm pretty sure they won't suddenly reappear on IRC. But again this has nothing to do with Wikka's development's being stopped.

Hi there, I've talked to Nils about this. I decided to start a fork because the current Wikka code doesn't fit me and I'm tired of asking for SVN access for months. It's totally counter productive. Furthermore, NeoWikka won't follow the Wikka's philosophy. It's true that Wikka is very fast but its codes is hard to maintain. And I don't want to bother the Wikka's Dev Team with my huge code cleaning operation.

Didn't mean to start anything here! This is what open source is all about, the ability to go off and do your own thing. I'm interested in the differences in philosophy you cite between Neo and Wikka, but unfortunately there doesn't appear to be any links to your project on this page.

Sorry, Neo, but I've never heard you were asking SVN write privs. In any case, SVN write access at root level is given at the moment to members of the Wikka Dev Team only. Contributors can post patches and code through the Wikka tracker. We're now in condition to give Wikka contributors read/write privs for specific nodes: this will allow contributors to commit and maintain code for their own plugins/branches. Application details will be posted soon on this website. Apart from this, I'm also interested in hearing about the differences between Wikka's and your fork's vision.

NeoNeurone, you are free to promote your personal fork of Wikka, but I find incorrect and quite unfair to use 1.2 as a version number for your first released package, thus implicitly suggesting that this is an upgrade of Wikka. In spite of your disclaimer, this is the feeling I have when I read that "the current development of Wikka Wiki has slowed down. And it's time for another Wikka Renewal Operation" and when I look at the version number. This fork is *not* a Wikka upgrade, it's not endorsed by the Wikka Development Team, and should use its own version numbering, i.e. starting from 0.0 for unstable packages and 1.0 for stable releases. You might want to look at what Wikka did when forking from Wakka (http://wikkawiki.org/WikkaReleaseNotes#hn_Wikka_1.0.0) or what Frank Chestnut did when forking pnWikka from Wikka (http://community.postnuke.com/module-Database-viewpub-tid-3-pid-3.htm). I hope this helps.

Ok, you are right. It's quite not fair to promote NeoWikka here. I've moved it to my homepage.
